Terms of Service

DanskAI Terms of Service

Effective date: 14 May 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and The Drawing Board company, trading as DanskAI ("we," "us," "our"), the operator of the DanskAI platform at danskai.co.uk. By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

DanskAI is an AI-assisted Danish language learning platform offering a study notebook, vocabulary tools, grammar practice, a tutor marketplace, courses, and related features. We may update, extend, or discontinue features at any time with reasonable notice where it materially affects paid functionality.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher) to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm you have parental or guardian consent.

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. You must notify us immediately at legal@danskai.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised access.

One account per person. Corporate or institutional accounts require a separate agreement.

3. Free access, subscriptions, and purchases

Free tier. Core learning tools are available at no charge subject to usage limits described on the pricing page.

Paid subscriptions. Premium plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual cycle. Prices are shown inclusive of VAT where applicable. We will give at least 30 days' notice before changing the price of an existing subscription.

Marketplace purchases. Payments for tutor lessons, course access, or downloadable materials are processed via our payment provider. All purchases are final unless a specific refund policy applies (see Section 5).

Cancellation. You may cancel a subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial-period refunds are issued for subscription fees unless required by law.

4. Tutor marketplace

DanskAI provides a marketplace that connects learners with independent tutors. Tutors are not employees or agents of DanskAI. We are not party to the tutoring relationship and do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or outcome of any tutor engagement.

Tutors must comply with the content standards in Section 6 and, where applicable, hold any required qualifications or permissions to provide teaching services in their jurisdiction.

Learners and tutors first introduced through DanskAI should book and pay for their initial lesson or package through the platform. Circumventing platform fees is prohibited and may result in account suspension.

5. Refunds and disputes

Statutory rights. If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you may have a 14-day right of withdrawal from a digital purchase unless you have begun accessing the content and expressly waived that right at checkout.

Service failures. If we are unable to provide a service you have paid for due to a fault on our side, we will offer a pro-rata refund or credit at our discretion.

Tutor lessons. Cancellation and refund terms for individual tutor bookings are set by each tutor and displayed before purchase. Where a tutor fails to attend a confirmed lesson, contact us at legal@danskai.co.uk for assistance.

Disputes. If you have a billing concern, email legal@danskai.co.uk with your order reference. We will respond within 5 business days.

6. Acceptable use and content standards

You must not use the Service to: upload or share content you do not have the right to use; infringe any third-party intellectual property right; harass, abuse, or harm other users or tutors; attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the platform; or violate any applicable law or regulation.

Content you upload (notes, course materials, forum posts) must not contain: third-party copyrighted material without permission; illegal, defamatory, or discriminatory content; malware or harmful code.

We may remove any content and suspend or terminate accounts that breach these standards, with or without prior notice depending on severity.

7. Intellectual property

Your content. You retain ownership of content you create or upload. By uploading it, you grant DanskAI a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, display, and deliver that content as necessary to operate the Service.

Our content. The DanskAI platform, AI models, interface, and all proprietary materials are owned by or licensed to DanskAI. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

8. AI features and limitations

AI-generated content (grammar corrections, translations, lesson suggestions) is provided for educational assistance only. It may contain errors. Do not rely on it as professional legal, medical, or certified language-assessment advice. You are responsible for verifying AI output before using it in formal contexts.

9. Privacy and data

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. By using the Service you acknowledge you have read and understood it.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted availability.

To the extent permitted by law, DanskAI's total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100 (~870 kr.), whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Termination

You may close your account at any time via Account Settings or by emailing legal@danskai.co.uk. We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to access paid content ceases; we will retain your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give at least 30 days' notice by email or prominent in-app notice. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by English law. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that consumers in their country of residence may also rely on mandatory local consumer-protection rules.
